NATE TURNER | Vice President

Nate joined LCA Architects in 1988 and has served as project architect for several of LCA’s civic, educational and government projects. In 1995, Nate opened and operated LCA’s satellite office in Elko, Nevada and developed a client base throughout northeastern Nevada. LCA continues to receive commissions from many of these Nevada clients.

After returning to the Boise office, Nate became partner in 1999 and continues to lead the firms efforts in Nevada. As Vice-President, Nate’s responsibilities include marketing and business development, along with assisting in the day-to-day operations of LCA. Nate’s architectural focus is on education building types, with primary experience in K-12 and higher education facilities.

STEVE SIMMONS | Special Projects Coordinator

Steve Simmons, LCA Architects’ Special Projects Coordinator, has over thirty years of experience in the architectural field.  He brings strong communication, technical and project coordination skills to the project team. His broad range of experience includes institutional, commercial, industrial, educational and justice related projects. He manages the design and production team  from concept phase thru construction administration. He has extensive experience in programming building space planning, remodeling, and facility renovation.  His expertise is in coordinating projects and guiding the team through the programming, design and construction process.

Clients that Steve has developed long standing relationships with include: Boise State University, University of Idaho, Saint Alphonsus Health Systems, Hewlett Packard Company and many counties and cities throughout Idaho.

SCOTT HENSON | Vice President

Scott joined LCA Architects in 1985 and became a managing partner in 1999.  His leadership spans the design of fire stations and banks to commercial and office development.  Since 1995, Scott has obtained an interest and an in-depth experience in educational design from K-12 to university campuses.  As the head of LCA Architects educational planning studio, Scott has developed a unique understanding of the issues involved in the design of educational facilities.

Several projects on which Scott worked have received awards from the American Institute of Architects, including Boise State University’s Interactive Learning and Teaching Center, Boise School District’s Borah High School Performing Arts Theater and The Johnson Residence.

STEVE CHRISTIANSEN | President

Steve Christiansen, the President of our firm, has over thirty years experience in architecture and construction management. He has extensive experience with master planning, programming and architectural services for a diverse number of project types from remodels to large, complex, multi-phased projects for both public and private sector clients. In the five years previous to coming to LCA, he was directly responsible for the construction phase management of over 48 million dollars worth of public facilities including municipal, educational, and correctional. He also has experience in value and engineering studies, cost estimating, scheduling, cost control, cash flow, programming, program analysis, and architectural services for several major facilities.

Steve’s project experience includes the new, remodel, expansion and renovations for Idaho Central Credit Union, Nampa Public Safety Building, VA Hospital Clinic Remodel and Additions, and over five years of various remodels and additions for the Idaho State Correctional Institution.

Saint Alphonsus Breaks Ground
On New Hospital In Nampa

On Friday, Saint Alphonsus Health System held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new hospital at the corner of Interstate 84 and Garrity Boulevard.The 240,000-square-foot hospital is expected to open in 2017, which will coincide with the celebration of 100 years of Catholic health care service in the city. What began with the Sisters of Mercy providing medical care in a tent has grown to an $80 million, state-of-the-art facility with the latest medical technology.
