St. Luke’s Emergency Department/Outpatient Imaging Center

LCA was commissioned to provide interior design, furnishings, equipment, and signage services for the new free standing Emergency Department and Medical Imaging located at Midland Avenue and Interstate 84 in Nampa.

The ED, at 20,000 square feet, has 17 exam and treatment rooms equipped for trauma, isolation, and intermediate care. The waiting room was designed with a hospitality mind-set. Artwork reflects the history of the city of Nampa, with historic and modern photographs capturing the identity of the region. The cohesive approach to design with the architecture, Interiors, furniture, plantscaping, and signage is clearly demonstrated throughout the project.

The interiors for the imaging center were designed specifically to downplay the clinical atmosphere created by the highly specialized equipment. Specialty lighting was added over the CT and MRI to add visual interest and provide a welcome distraction for patients undergoing procedures.

Special painting schemes were used in reading rooms and control areas to eliminate reflection and glare issues which have been problematic at other locations.
