Ponderosa State Park
The Idaho State Parks and Recreation Department had acquired the Kokanee Cove Church Camp located within the Ponderosa State Park in McCall, Idaho. LCA investigated the conditions of the existing structures of the camp and developed a master plan to utilize the site for group gathering and camping. The projects were phased and completed as funding became available.
Phase I – The Lakeview Village Campground was relocated across the roadway from the existing campground. The original campground was scheduled to be turned into a future lodge and day use recreation area. There are 60 new campsites with provisions for double trailer site parking with tent pad access. There are two unenclosed shelters that accommodate 50-60 people, a restroom shower building and camp host site.
Phase II – The Visitors Center, Check-In Building, Restroom and Shower Building and covered picnic shelters. The Visitors Center building contains an office, gift shop, exhibition space and restroom. The adjacent check-in building is where campers check-in and check-out as well as contact the rangers for day to day issues. Another building is the area is the restroom / shower building designed as an amenity for the campers.
