West Valley Medical Center CCU Replacement

LCA was commissioned by West Valley Medical Center to build a replacement CCU at their Caldwell Hospital.

The entire space, ceiling, mechanical, and electrical system were demolished to make way for a new unit. Enlarged rooms with more amenities including lift systems and headwall were added to each room along with a floor toilet (preferred by medical staff) for the bariatrics population. The doors were replaced with larger sized glazed sliding ICU doors. Ceiling structures were replaced throughout to install LIKO lift systems in each room.

Satellite nurse stations with observation windows were added between rooms, out of the corridor to keep the care givers as close as possible to the patients. Rooms were outfitted with additional common supply storage to reduce staff travel, again to maximize care time with patients. The new rooms, appointed with wood accent walls, direct and indirect lighting, and control systems provide a significant upgrade for patient comfort and staff satisfaction.
